So, what’s behind this stock’s surge? IREN 0.00%↑ has two parts to its business: BTC mining and AI cloud services.
Let's start with its BTC mining sector . . .
In October, IREN 0.00%↑ mined 439 BTC, a surge from just the previous month of 347 mined tokens.
Part of this increase is due to the company’s dedication to boosting its hash rate, or mining power.
It currently operates with 21 exahashes per second (EH/s), but expects to end the year with 31 EH/s.
In 2025, it anticipates reaching a whopping 50 EH/s, making it one of the biggest publicly traded BTC miners in the world!
This increase in mining power plays a crucial role in the company’s ability to mine more BTC, resulting in more revenue.
A Power Move With AI ⚡
The supplemental part of its business comes from AI cloud services.
In October, these brought in $1 million of revenue, up from $700K in September.
Over 1,000 NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) graphic processing units (GPUs) are currently being commissioned.
While BTC mining remains its primary business, IREN 0.00%↑ leverages its computing power to generate growing month-over-month revenue.
In October, its revenue increased 32% to $28.2 million.
Additionally, electricity cost per BTC decreased 12%, driven by an increased contribution from one of its newest mining sites, Childress.
As BTC heads higher, revenue from each BTC mined will only increase.
Currently, the miner holds a market cap of just $2.4 billion — a valuation we believe is cheap!
IREN 0.00%↑ is dedicated to increasing its mining power at lower costs, and its infrastructure is set in place from years of planning.
Now with BTC’s price pumping, all roads point higher for IREN 0.00%↑!
That said, we’ll continue to hold this miner in our Gold Tier model portfolio.
