Paul: My Father, My Hero 💪
My father is my hero.
Born in 1933 in a small village in India, he faced unimaginable hardship. His mother died when he was three, his father when he was twenty.
India was gripped by crushing poverty then — people died of hunger every day.
Yet, against all odds, he put himself through college.
He landed a job in Bombay — India’s largest city, but life didn't get easier.
He remained broke, struggling to support his family on meager wages.
Then, he made a bold decision that changed everything . . .
The Dubai Gamble 🎲
In 1974, my father applied for a job in Dubai — a name few people recognized back then.
When he got the offer, his siblings begged him not to go.
India, dominated by socialism, offered no real opportunities, and his prospects were bleak.
But Dubai had just discovered oil, and my father saw potential.
It was a calculated risk.
“I have nothing to lose,” he told his family as he accepted the job and prepared to leave.
When he arrived, Dubai was still mostly desert — barely a city, more like a tiny outpost.
He’d visit the Sheikh’s palace for coffee to discuss business.
In hindsight, moving to Dubai was a no-brainer.
But at the time, it was anything but.
The gamble paid off.
The city grew spectacularly, becoming one of the world’s emerald cities. My father earned 100,000 times more than he would have in India.
By the time he died suddenly of heart failure in 2000, he had secured a future for my mother, my sister, and me.
My father’s courage changed everything.
Because of him, I came to the U.S., became a citizen, and embraced incredible opportunities.
His decision to take a chance on Dubai changed the course of our family’s future forever.
Like Father, Like Son 👶
I’m my father’s son.
His philosophy of taking calculated risks shapes how I invest and trade.
It’s how I made money for clients on Wall Street — and how I invest my own money today.
A calculated risk in financial markets means seizing opportunities when the odds are in your favor.
There are no guarantees, of course. But when the odds look good, you bet.
You won’t win every time.
But if you persist and stay in the game long enough, just a few big hits — like Tesla Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA), Bitcoin USD (BTC-USD), Ethereum USD (ETH-USD), Strategy Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), or Carvana Co. (Nasdaq: CVNA) — can be life-changing.
That’s how I believe we can build financial freedom, security, and the ability to care for your family and the people you love.
My Father’s Wisdom 🦉
That said, on this birthday, I share my father’s wisdom and the lessons he left me:
Take risks — but only after thoughtful calculation and with care.
Stay resilient through setbacks, losses, and failure.
Use the power of markets to support what matters most in your life.
And above all, see the world through a lens of opportunity, growth, and gratitude.
Opportunity rarely shows up how you expect. It doesn’t arrive on your timeline — and often feels unconventional or unpopular.
To seize it, you need conviction.
You need courage. And you need the guts to act when others hesitate.
Grateful for the Past, Bullish for the Future 🙏🚀
I’m deeply grateful to my parents for giving me the chance at the life I’ve lived.
I’m thankful to the U.S. — this extraordinary country — for welcoming me and providing opportunities I couldn’t have found elsewhere.
I’m also grateful to our amazing ATG family — our subscribers and the team that serves you daily — for believing in me!
On my birthday, I surprised the entire team with a bonus — just one way of me being able to pay forward the opportunities I was given.
And I’m excited because I believe the best is yet to come.
I see a horizon full of endless opportunity, innovation, growth, and transformation.
