Paul: What Happens If Trump Fires Powell? 🧨
President Trump is on a mission to oust Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
And in my opinion, he likely won’t wait until Powell’s term ends in May 2026.
In fact, I don’t even think he’ll wait for the next Fed meeting in September 2025.
I believe Trump could pursue a new chair by September to facilitate an interest rate cut, which he’s clamoring for.

Now, this may seem controversial and contrarian to the current narrative . . .
But I believe this aggressive move could spark chaos in financial markets — shaking the confidence that global investors place in an independent Fed.
Here’s why this crisis could send gold, Bitcoin USD (BTC-USD), and Ethereum USD (ETH-USD) skyrocketing.
Why the Fuss Over Powell? 🤔
The Fed’s independence from political interference is a cornerstone of global trust in U.S. denominated assets — dollars, stocks, and bonds.
One pillar of that trust — why foreign investors keep their wealth in U.S. markets — is the belief that the Fed operates free from political meddling.
However, I believe that if Trump’s campaign to oust Powell plays out, it’s definitely going to eat into that trust.
And in my view, it’s not a matter of “if” but “when.”
Investors already nervous about tariffs, rising deficits, relentless debt and money issuance won’t welcome a politically captured Fed.
The result?
I believe global investors could look to actively lighten up on U.S. assets — especially bonds, stocks, and real estate.
After years of bull markets, any selling could push prices in U.S. dollar denominated assets lower.
Especially under current conditions where prices of most assets are simply behaving as if downside risk no longer exists.
Now, if you’ve been in markets for a long time, you’d likely know this:
In the past, these kinds of scenarios lead to capital flowing into major fiat currencies like the euro, the Japanese yen, or the Chinese yuan.
But in this cycle, those no longer look so safe.
In fact, they each have their own set of problems . . .
Global 🌏 Alternatives Are in Trouble, Too
Europe, Japan, and China are grappling with their own troubles.
🧨 Europe faces sluggish growth and needs to issue money to start paying for its own defense.
🧨 Japan is battling deflation, a weakening yen, and a rapidly shrinking population.
🧨 China’s economy is stumbling with massive debt, a collapsed real estate sector, and less trade with the U.S.
Simply put, the old escape routes are no longer appealing (or safe) options.
With the conventional alternatives no longer attractive, I believe investors will likely turn to non-state assets that operate beyond government control.
So, here’s where I expect the money to flow . . . 👇
The Rise of Independent Assets 🪙
Investors now need to look elsewhere — and fast.
That’s where gold, BTC, ETH, and select crypto currencies, like XRP USD (XRP-USD), come in.
Gold is historically a safe haven during financial uncertainty as its value is not linked to any government’s whims.
As decentralized cryptocurrencies, BTC and ETH offer similar appeal under that same principle.
They’re borderless and immune to central bank policies and political power plays.
These stores of value shine even brighter in a world where the trust of central banks is crumbling.
And here’s the kicker: The shift toward independent assets isn’t just likely, it’s accelerating.
We’re already watching the big potential catalyst for this shift unfold . . .
A Perfect Storm ⛈️ for a Massive Move
The Trump-Powell saga has the potential to erode confidence — not just in the Fed, but in any asset tied to state-controlled currencies — such as U.S. stocks and bonds.
As a result, trillions of dollars could shift rapidly, driving explosive volatility in a short period.
Bottom line: A Trump-led Fed shake-up could redefine markets, igniting a crisis of confidence in traditional markets.
With Powell potentially out by September, the ripple effects could be swift.
Investors could reweight their asset allocations, selling U.S. assets that dominate global investor portfolios.
Then — due to the reason I laid above — investors could bypass struggling global currencies and pour money into gold, BTC, ETH, and other cryptocurrencies.
In this scenario, the flood of capital could send these independent assets (unbound by political chaos) soaring.
That’s why I believe they’re poised for massive potential gains.
