Paul: Once Upon a Time, the U.S. Economy Was All AG 🌾
In the 1800s, the U.S. economy was dominated by agriculture. Believe it or not, an estimated 80% of the population worked in this industry.
Then the Industrial Revolution came . . .
By 1900, agriculture represented a little over 15% of the economy. The Industrial Revolution transformed the economy, but the service sector was just getting started.
The Industrial Economy Is Surpassed 👀
By 2000, the service sector dominated the economy.
And if you look at the stock market today, you’ll see this through the domination of S&P 500 companies, like Google.
Now, we have another transition unfolding to a digital economy.
The thing is . . . the digital economy is so new that the Bureau of Economic Analysis only recently started tracking it separately.
Previously, it was commingled among many other categories. However, separating out the digital economy shows some remarkable information.
First, the digital economy is already quite big at 10% gross domestic product (GDP). It’s also faster than the overall GDP, with a growth rate of over 7% per year.
The digital economy employs nearly 9 million people, who made nearly $1.3 trillion in 2022. That’s nearly 50% of digital’s contribution to GDP!
This New Economy Is More Profitable 🤑 Than Other Sectors
In other words, the digital economy is remarkably profitable compared to the legacy sectors of agriculture, industrial, and service.
Again, we can see this in the extraordinary profits of digital companies like Google and others.
But this emerging economy is still a young trend. Digital technologies — like AI, robotics, and others — are still emerging in the economy.
That means this economy could grow from 10% to 20%, then to 50% or more of the economy in the coming decades.
This is inevitable in my opinion, based on my study of how new, emergent technologies come to dominate the economy.
The Future 🔮 Belongs to Our Stocks
If that’s right, this is the moment to focus on digital economy companies that are still quite young in terms of their economic life.
In the years to come, these companies will serve as the fuel that keeps the digital economy growing.
Young companies — like Teladoc Health Inc (NYSE: TDOC), Zoom Video Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: ZM), Airbnb Inc. (Nasdaq: ABNB), Coinbase Global Inc. (Nasdaq: COIN), 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE: DDD), and the others — could give you the wrong impression if you simply follow their daily stock prices.
The future is undeniably digital, and it’s inevitable.
The gatekeepers of the digital economy are digital-first companies, like the ones we own in our ATG Digital portfolios.
As this transition into a digital economy unfolds, you have two options . . .
You can focus on daily price action . . .
Or you can see the price of these stocks as low in relation to the incredible, extraordinary future that’s coming!
For access to companies that could be major players in a growing digital economy, consider subscribing to our Silver Tier model portfolio.
For just $9.99, you get access to trade alerts, stock picks, and the model portfolio, as well as market and portfolio commentary.

#GBC100: Monday, April 29, 2024
The #GBC100 is up 0.61% today.
Created on September 22, 2022, the #GBC100 is an index/portfolio comprised of opportunity, growth, innovation, and crypto-related investments.
Our goals with the #GBC100 are twofold . . .
First, we want readers to get a sense of what our investments are doing in the market, because they can sometimes perform very differently than traditional indices (like the S&P 500 or Nasdaq 100).
Second, we’d like to eventually turn the #GBC100 into an ETF.
That way, instead of owning hundreds of growth stocks, you can get exposure to ATG Digital thinking — in opportunity, growth, innovation, and crypto — all in one place.
To learn more or to express your support for the launch of an ETF (by completing a poll), click here.
Tomorrow: Dan will discuss a tech company seeing a surge. 📈 Stay tuned!
Happy Monday! 🎉

We hope to get you a little bit closer to your goals this week!
